The Horse Head Nebula

This is one of my better images of late. One Friday night in February was particularly clear and I was able to get a few hours of data on the Horse Head Nebula before it set. For reference, the brightest star on the left is the first belt star in the constellation Orion.

I used a one shot color narrowband processing method by Lucomatico to get these results, which I think are some of my best so far when it comes to separating out Ha, OIII, and SII bands. I still want to go back and reprocess to see if I can get more accurate blues and reds without losing the oranges.

The Horse Head Nebula, also known as Barnard 33, is located next to the first belt star in Orion.
