The Sadr Region

The Sadr Region

The Sadr Region in Cygnus. The central bright star, Sadr or y Cygni, is about 1300 light years from Earth. The Crescent Nebula and the Butterfly Nebula are both contained in this region, along with other large areas of diffuse emission and dark nebulae. It’s an absolutely beautiful area of the sky to image. I captured these 5 hours on the last clear night we had here in Northern Kentucky, about a week ago.
